HEAVEN ON EARTH - ST. REGIS

aboutpam

Now that 2017 was coming to an end & 2018 is about to start off really well I want to share my absolute highlight of last year with you <3

As some of you might know, I was invited to spend four days at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort in August, together with Daniela. The entire stay was one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had and more than I ever could have dreamed of. The Maldives in general are one of the most idyllic and beautiful places I’ve ever been to and I'm more than thankful to already have spent so many vacations there. South of Malé is the St. Regis Vommuli Resort, which definitely belongs among the top hotels of the world - in terms of luxury, service, architecture, food and everything else. Naturally, this level of luxury comes at a price - and I’m still so very grateful for the opportunity to have experienced a few days in this incredible place and I’m so happy I get to share my experience with you :) aaaand I also saw my very first shooting star lying on the terrace of this villa you can see above!! Still can't get over how beautiful this was!

aboutpam

In 2017 a big focus for me has been relaxing both your body and mind. Especially within our fast-paced, permanently stressed-out society we need places that help us escape our daily hassles. We all need to recharge our batteries every once in a while - and to do just that, what could be better than escaping to a private island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by nothing but water. For sure there are thousands of places on this beautiful world to click your "reset" button but let me tell you: this is one of the best spots I have ever seen so far!! It’s not only the way the St. Regis pampers their guests (even though that definitely helps). For me personally, days like the ones I spent on Vommuli Island give me a lot of time to just think, and time to spend with myself. Being surrounded by the ocean, waves, wind and palm trees  - you can’t help but feeling incredibly grateful for life and the beauty of nature that’s all around us!!

aboutpam

Even though the prices might seem a little off-putting at first - what the St. Regis offers is more than just luxury. I promise haha. Imagine everything you could ever want from a hotel stay - and I guarantee you’ll find it here. Located on the private Vommuli Island you can reach the resort via seaplane from the international airport Malé.  Daniela and I arrived on Vommuli Island on August 10th after staying on another island that was located on the northern side of the Maldives. We were picked up in Malé by the seaplane which then took us to Vommuli Island. Unfortunately we had picked a day with really bad weather, which is why we were completely soaked and a little seasick. So you could probably say that our stay on Vommuli island didn’t start out 100% great haha. However, as soon as we actually stepped off the seaplane and on to the resort all of that was forgotten. Before the trip I hadn’t really looked at the resort’s website in toooo much detail to be honest - which is why when I actually got there, I was completely overwhelmed and amazed by the beauty we found ourselves surrounded by!!

aboutpam

Guests at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort can chose between different accommodations: you can either stay at villas on the beach or on the water. There are of course also different categories, like villas with pools, villas towards the sunset or sunrise side, 2 bedroom family villas etc.. I haven't seen those ones in person but there are also Caroline Astor and John Jacob Astor Estates where there’s space for up to six people!! By the way - there are 360- degree videos available on the St. Regis website, so you can look at all of the rooms in detail! How cool is that?!

aboutpam aboutpam

We spent our four nights in one of their beautiful Overwater-Villas with Pool. The place offered so much space for the both of us and on top of that even had a private outside area that gave us an amazing view of the Indian ocean. The room was full of light, with a lot of open space and an incredibly tasteful and elegant interior design. I might go even further and say that it was probably one of the most beautiful spaces I’ve ever stayed at. There were lots of small details and features that really showed the level of luxury that the St. Regis offers its guests. One of them was the fact that we were able to control almost everything in our room via iPad - such as the air conditioning, the blinds and the TV. The already pretty amazing bathroom was perfected by the fact that it had a separate TV right above the beautiful bathtub (as if you need another reason for spending hours in the bathtub lol).

aboutpam aboutpam

On top of that Daniela and I had our personal butler who assisted us with everything! I know this might be standard for some people on this world but it's absolutely crazy once you experience it yourself! I was trying not to get used to that haha.. On the way to the resort they even handed us an iPad with a video message from our butler, introducing himself and greeting us. He looked after everything we could possibly need during our stay, even the things we didn’t even know we needed. When we got back to our villa after our first dinner at the resort, we were surprised to find all our stuff perfectly organized - our cards, make-up and even all of my make-up brushes had been assorted next to each other. They even offered to unpack our suitcases for us.. obviously I was too ashamed to let them because my suitcase was A MESS haha.

aboutpam

If you know me, you might also know that the thing I can get most excited about is FOOD, without a question. And the St. Regis definitely nailed that part. There are six different restaurants guests can choose from and we were lucky enough to be able to try them all. The main restaurant is called „Alba“: it offers mostly Italian and Maldivian-inspired dishes, as well as an amazing view of the beach and the ocean. It also serves breakfast every morning - and the breakfast here was without a question the most incredible hotel- breakfast I’ve ever had (sorry I hope you're not already tired of me saying this). Every morning you get to pick from a huge buffet that really leaves nothing to be desired. Besides a more „unhealthy“ corner that served the best pastries and sweets they also had a huge selection of natural granolas, superfoods and vegan options. On top of that you could order á la carte and have something prepared for you specifically, such as eggs or veggies. Even though I tend to choose sleep over breakfast sometimes - during our stay at the St. Regis we didn’t miss breakfast once.

aboutpam aboutpam

I also really enjoyed the food at the Asian restaurant „Orientale“ and the „Cargo- restaurant“ that serves middle-eastern cuisine. The Cargo Restaurant actually turned out to be one of my „happy-places“ during our stay - the combination of delicious middle-eastern food, Arabic music and the tropical surroundings never failed to put me in a good mood. I was just sitting there pretending I know the words of those Arab songs haha. Another great restaurant is the Pizza-place „Crust“ - it’s located directly on the beach and designed to be a little less luxurious. Daniela loved the pizza :D

aboutpam

Another Must-See at the Vommuli Resort is of course the „Whale Bar“, which has recently won the International Design Awards 2017 for its unique architecture. As the name suggests, the bar is designed in a whale-like shape and it gives a perfect view of the sunset. I found that some of the buildings had an almost futuristic feel to them. Seriously noooothing about the design here felt „standard“ or mediocre.

If eating delicious foods all day everyday, tanning on the beach and having drinks while enjoying the Maldivian sunset isn’t what you’re looking for in a vacation (which I would find hard to believe), there are also multiple activities that you can do at the resort. You can either decide between relaxation and athletic challenges, or you can just alternate between both of them (which is what I did). One thing I tried for the first time at Vommuli resort, and really enjoyed, was the so-called „Anti-Gravity Yoga“. Don’t worry, I had never heard of it either, until I got to try it. It’s a new type of yoga that uses special kinds hammocks to combine yoga, pilates and dance. The hammocks can work to support yoga poses that are sometimes difficult to get into on the ground, such as backbends. I got tangled up in my hammock more than once but we definitely had a lot of fun trying it out! I'm also sure you can remember these fun videos on Facebook of those fitness classes on little trampolines. It's called „Jumping Fitness" and they also have it at the resort! The St. Regis is actually the first hotel on the Maldives that offers this. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to try Jumping Fitness during our stay - if I ever get the chance again I’ll try it for suuuure! There is also a fully equipped gym (definitely a priority for me, as you might have guessed lol), and a tennis court.

aboutpam aboutpam

Naturally, the Vommuli Resort also offers an incredible Spa & Wellness Centre, the „Iridium Spa“. And what could be better after a workout than relaxing at the spa, while enjoying a perfect view of the ocean? Again, they offer everything you could possibly want from a spa: a beautiful ambience, relaxing massages (alone or for couples), steam baths and saunas, all with the most idyllic view ever.

aboutpam

During those four days there was only one thing that wasn’t amazing: the weather. However, you can’t really blame the Maldives for that. Unfortunately we went there during off-season, which was kind of the wrong timing. We only got to enjoy 1 or 1 1/2 really nice, sunny days (which meant taking pictures noooon stop haha) - the rest of the time it was more gloomy and rainy. Luckily the resort offers so many different activities, so it didn’t matter that much. However, if you’re planning on spending your vacation at the beach, tanning and looking up at palm trees, I would recommend going during the main season. If I ever get the chance again I’ll definitely try not to go during the rainy season.

aboutpam

All in all I am still so amazed and incredibly grateful. I’m grateful for the fact that there are such magical places and hotels, like the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort. And, again, I am so very grateful that I got to experience it myself. From incredibly delicious food, served on golden plates, to a personal butler (and perfectly assorted make-up brushes), and the perfect bathroom-lighting (if you’re into make-up at all you might know the usual hotel-struggle). Every detail was simply perfect. Yes, luxurious hotels like this one definitely come with a price and whoever can afford to stay there is already incredibly lucky. However, if you ever get the chance to spend a few relaxing days at a resort like the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, I promise you won't regret it.

LA DIARY - WEEK 1

aboutpam

Hello my loves ♡ long time no see.

I’ve been spending the last 5 days enjoying and exploring LA, figuring out where everything is and meeting new people. AND I finally got some sleep. I’ll tell you about my experiences day by day & you can also shop my exact outfits below!! Have fun.

TUESDAY, SEPT 27

We arrived in the afternoon and I have to say that the flight was horrible. I was freeeeeeeezing and that’s why I arrived with a cold and a cystitis - yeeeey. But luckily our arrival was super easy, no frightening custom controls, no lost luggage, no nothing. Afterwards we carried our suitcases (which isn’t that easy haha - I got like 2 suitcases, 24kg each and some hand luggage) to SIXT, where we picked up our car. Such a beautiful one! We got a BMW 640i Convertible and could actually cruise around all day long `cause it’s so fun to drive. But your rules in the US are so different haha. We needed to get used to that. Then we drove to our first AirBnb Apartment, which we rented for 4 nights till the actual one got available.

First day, woke up at 06:30am and felt super energetic! We went for breakfast to „Le Pain Quotidien“ - which is my favorite organic restaurant ever, and I was totally surprised that we randomly found one. Afterwards we explored Santa Monica & all the shopping stores haha. We also went to West Hollywood, looked for those famous „Made in LA“ and Angel Wings Walls, and had dinner. At 8pm we wear dead tired and fell into bed.

06:30am again. That’s actually what I like about my „jetlag", I always wake up pretty early! But I don’t have any problems sleeping at night, so I’m not quite sure if it’s a jet-lag. Started my day with some work out of bed and sent an membership application to the Soho House. I’m not very optimistic that they will accept me so quickly but I’d love to go there in LA :(( Do you guys have any alternatives? Beautiful lunch spots or beach clubs to go to? Then we ended up having lunch at Urth Café - which actually wasn’t as great as I expected!! It’s super famous so what are your favorite meals there? Maybe I ordered the wrong food. Afterwards we went to the beach to watch the sunset - AMAZING. One of the things I absolutely love about LA. There is literally a breathtaking sunset e v e r y d a y.

DRESS by River Island (34)

Some work out of bed again, got a spray tan (which is the best thing ever haha - I think I’m addicted). Don’t know how I managed to walk around as a ghost the days before. I feel so much prettier when I’m tanned. And the spray tan I got here didn’t even smell. I also went out to buy a american SIM card for my phone and a DJI Osmo, with which I’m gonna take some awesome film footage for you guys. But unfortunately I couldn’t make it work yet haha. I’ll figure it out directly after posting this blogpost! Promise. That day we also had some super interesting conversations with some random strangers we met on the streets - like the producer of iRobot and stuff. So fun! To watch the sunset we went on the Santa Monica Peer which was … let’s say „different“ than I expected. Didn’t think it would be THAT touristic. But well it was fun. In particular this 60 year old dancer I posted on Insta stories :D

My cold and everything got so much worse that I needed to visit the doctor :( which is kind of scary in a foreign country to be honest. And so expensive!! Over $100 to only talk to them and to get some regular medication. We also wanted to go the the Equinox Gym and easily get a membership for 1 month but they rejected us. Oops. Gonna contact them via email but till then - any other tips? Golds Gym is kind of far but is there any other fancy gym around Santa Monica? After some hours I was finally feeling better and we decided to drive up the Hollywood Hills and watch the sunset from up there. We arrived there just on time ´cause we needed 1 hour longer than planned to get there. Not only the fault of the traffic but also because of missing some exits :D For now I’m gonna let you enjoy the view from up there.

Another thing I already love about LA. You’ve got everything there - skyscrapers, city, beach, mountains, and so ooooon. I’m so excited I’m already afraid to leave.

Today we’re going to drive to Venice & go to Gold’s Gym. I already feel horrible because I wasn’t able to work out for a week (illness & no gym).

NEED YOUR HELP: desperately need your tips regarding GYMS, BEACH CLUBS (or any cool alternatives to the Soho House) & WHERE TO GO OUT IF YOU'RE UNDER 21 (yes, that's definitely a problem).

Good night everyone ♡ for us the day is just about to start xx

BYE HAMBURG - HELLO LA

aboutpam

Such a crazy week!! I’ve been filming for a project for over 6 days now and I’m so exhausted by training & speaking for over 8 hours each day :/ But super excited to share it! You’ll have to wait till December though. I’m sooooorry…

Aaaaand I just booked Los Angeles! I’m going on September 27 (so in 12 days) and I'll be staying there for 4 weeks!! I. Can’t. Wait.

Super spontaneous and I don’t even have an apartment yet but that’s what I’ll be figuring out in the next days after we finished filming. I thought about Santa Monica? Any opinions?

So I really need some tips and recommendations! Even if you only saw something cool on Instagram! I definitely want to make the most out of those 4 weeks. I’ve only been to LA once before and even that time I only had a couple of hours there because I was actually staying at San Diego (the thing with National Geographics, do you remember?).

aboutpam

Oh I haven’t even told you why I’m going haha. Actually I don’t have a certain plan yet. Just to meet friends, other Instagrammers and Bloggers, explore LA and to gain experience. So do you follow some accounts from LA? Any ideas who I could text & meet?

So basically, everything is a haywire right now and I need to do some maaaajor last minutes plans.

Oh and I almost forgot. I also need to move out of my apartment in Hamburg before I leave to LA & drive my stuff back to my hometown because I only rented it for 3 months :( so sad. I think I’ll rent an apartment there for a longer period of time, though.

I’m sorry that this post wasn’t filled with useful information for you. But I wanted to keep you updated with everything!!

Have a lovely evening everyone ♡

LOVE THE OCEAN

aboutpam

Happy World Ocean Day everybody ♥︎

In honor of today’s event I wanted to tell you a little bit about the ocean, its pollution, some pretty astonishing facts & numbers about it and what every one of us can do about it.

So first, why do we celebrate the World Ocean Day?

  • to remind everyone of the major role the oceans have in everyday life. They are basically the lungs of our planet, which means they are providing most of the oxygen we breathe
  • to inform everybody of the impact of human actions on the ocean
  • to develop a worldwide movement
  • because the oceans are a major source of food
  • to celebrate together the beauty & the wealth of the ocean

aboutpam

But as you probably know the oceans are in trouble because they are sooo polluted, overfished and exploited by us humans. A couple of weeks ago I went to San Diego and LA together with Davidoff, National Geographics and some other Instagram people – basically to raise awareness on my social media accounts & to use my reach for a good cause. I know you guys loved my Snapchat Story back then. Can you remember? I talked about some key facts and some tips on how to reduce our plastic consumption. But now I thought a blogpost would be a little more long-lasting than 24 hours haha. And have a look at those facts! Crazy, right?

aboutpam aboutpam aboutpam

So what can we do about this now? Most of the times we think that we can do nothing as a single person in our daily life. Someone from National Geographics told me that it’s so much easier to prevent for example plastic from getting into the ocean than to try to clean it up afterwards. The EASIEST thing is to buy and use less plastic. Plastic bottles and shopping bags often end up in the ocean and stay there for generations. So just use glass or reusable bottles and bring your own bag if you go shopping! Further you can of course support projects like the “Pristine Sea’s Expedition” by National Geographics. Davidoff Cool Water has supported this project for aaaages and their goal is to protect 10% of the world’s oceans by 2020 & inform people what they can do to help.

I will share some more pictures of my trip to San Diego in July! Because there will be a short movie and I’m going to be a part of it!! ♥︎

Goodnight everyone!

4 NIGHTS ON IBIZA

aboutpam

I just got home from our short trip to Ibiza! I haven’t even unpacked my bags yet haha .. We went there for my dad’s birthday – only him, my mom, my brother, a friend and me. It was super fun and relaxing! I would have loved to stay there longer. We actually used to go to Ibiza pretty frequently (almost every year I guess?) because it’s super easy to fly from Germany to Spain and Ibiza has something special to it.

Anyways, you all freaked out about this cute little romper that I wore in black and rose and that’s why I decided to do another post about the outfits I wore during the vacation & the exact shopping links (like I did with my NYC Outfits). The jumpsuit is also available in two other colors, just so you know. Unfortunately the brown sandals are super super old so they are not available anymore ..

Good night everyone ♡

I ♡ NYC

aboutpam

I love the buildings, I love the energy, I love the people and I love that there’s something special everywhere you look. This time I was there with my mum. I had some appointments, a TV video shooting, I met Andrea Denver & Kyrzayda and also had some spare time to explore the city. We stayed at the Knickerbocker Hotel directly at Times Square, which was the prefect location to stay at.

You can find my Instagram Posts & some snapshots with the exact outfit details below ♥︎

Oh and I’m actually thinking about “moving” to NYC for 4-8 weeks. Or rather LA? hmmm..

THROWBACK TO PARADISE

aboutpam

Maldives, Egypt & Mexico. Three wonderful places I got to visit in the last 12 months. If you’re craving summer right now – like me – then just keep reading and be mentally on vacation.

EGYPT: I visited Egypt with my mum in February last year. We kind of have this thing to fly to Egypt once a year and spend a couple of days with just the two of us. Egypt is great because it’s warm in the winter, not tooooo far from Germany and the dry desert climate means no sweat & no frizzy hair. We always stay at The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh but this time we went to the Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay. What I really liked about the Kempinski was the huge pool / rock / waterfall scenery. It made me feel like I was on the Seychelles, kind of.

Hotel: Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay

MALDIVES: I can’t find the right words for the Maldives. Let’s just say: I’ve never been to such a beautiful, overwhelming and paradisiac place before. Everything is so unreal and looks so photoshopped – the turquoise water, the white sand, the giant palm trees, the dolphins, the sunsets and the typical water villas. I will definitely go back one day, on honeymoon at the latest haha. The only thing that scared the *** out of me was knowing that there are quite a lot of sharks, also close to the shore – luckily I didn’t see any. And somehow my skin couldn’t deal with the humidity. On day 1 my face broke out into a battlefield of acne but never miiiind. I feel like I’ve already posted a thousand pictures of my dream vacation on IG but I still found some more that you haven’t seen yet.. Enjoyyyy ♥︎

Hotel: Sun Siyam Iru Fushi

MEXICO: After staying on the Maldives it’s kind of hard for Mexico to compete. I loved the Maya Ruins, the Cenotes, the Coast of Tulum (seriously, it’s breathtaking) and of course our hotel. Maybe I’ve been to the wrong places but I kind of missed the calmness & silence. Everything was so crowded & loud and I just couldn’t get to that stage of pure relaxation haha.. Maybe I need to go back with more time to discover the less touristic parts of Mexico. Any suggestions? ♡
